Yours faithfully, Des Des Slatter <slatter_s> geelong, Australia - Wednesday June 18, 2003 at 07:02:58 (EST) SNGB782 Newcomb Cluster Skills.net Project I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 6 weeks at this course. Our teacher Andrew McNaught has been extremely patient and has the nack to demystify the internet. He has related all the language of the computer to day to day life and I now understand that it really is a flow on from life but just in another median.I now feel much more confident to tackle what was quite a daunting task. All participants in the group have been able to interact and some successful problem solving occured. A very informative, hands on approach has enabled us all to become just that bit more confident. I no longer believe that the computer is in charge - I am!!! Jan Napper <www.tow-u2@bigpond.com.au> Newcomb, Australia - Wednesday June 18, 2003 at 06:52:31 (EST) SNGB781 newcomb cluster skills.net project. I am very impressed with this program. I came not knowing a lot about the internet. Andrew mcnaught was very informative explaining the basics as well as the more technical side of how the internet operates. I would certainly recommend this program and think that people who already have a basic understanding of the internet would certainly benefit from doing the program. jan full newcomb, Australia - Wednesday June 18, 2003 at 06:48:30 (EST) SNGB780 thank you for offering me this chance to learn about the internet andrew has been very helpfull the course was just what i was looking for i knew nothing now i have the basics hopefully i will be able to continue to learn thank you bernadette sliwa newcomb, Australia - Wednesday June 18, 2003 at 06:48:04 (EST) SNGB779 newcomb cluster skills.net project bernadette sliwa newcomb, Australia - Wednesday June 18, 2003 at 06:37:41 (EST) SNGB777 newcomb cluster skills.net project bernadette sliwa newcomb, Australia - Wednesday June 18, 2003 at 06:37:02 (EST) SNGB776 What a great day a'Friendly Saints" Group had with Steven from mc2. The Tutors James R.Amos <jnjamos@netconnect.com.au> Horsham Vic, Australia - Thursday September 26, 2002 at 09:01:32 (EST) SNGB722 Chris Symmonds-Clunes (Vic) I have found using the services of The Gateway very beneficial. The Internet introduction course has enabled me to access a new world of information. Being able to use the facilities provided, including computer training is also helpful for my own personal use at home. Chris Symonds Clunes Vic, Australia - Wednesday September 18, 2002 at 01:35:33 (EST) SNGB721 NEVER SAY NEVER For one who cannot effectively work the microwave or VCR, I was very dubious about the wisdom of responding to The Gateway ad in the Clunes Community news about learning to use a computer, via The Gateway services. My thoughts went like this?no, I?m just not geared to that sort of new skill?I couldn?t cope with it?and just wouldn?t understand? However, with two of my daughters overseas, I really needed to find a better exchange and phone calls. So I took the plunge, visited Trish at The Gateway, warned her of my total ignorance, and after paying a very acceptable fee for service. I was off and running?learning the computer language and some selected skills. My need was to send and receive emails, and to access web sites, so Trish focussed on that. It meant coming out to Clunes (my old home town) from Ballarat once a week for 6 weeks, for a couple of hours tuition each week ? and it opened new doors for me. Trish advised following up with the ?basic computer skills? course she was running I did this and found the group sessions there are very enjoyable and useful, further enhancing our knowledge, and making new friends as well as rediscovering old ones ? wonderful! We were of varied ages and backgrounds, but all seeking the same goals of trying to catch up with the modern world via computers. I highly recommend this move to anyone with the desire to learn computers and doubting their ability to do so. It is great to see this enterprise happening in Clunes, and Trish is to be congratulated for her patience and skills in getting through some of our thick skulls, and making it such an enjoyable at the same time. --------EASY!!!
